Laura's Story - Exchange Student

QUESTIONS I'M COMMONLY ASKED

Is Germany still ruled by a dictator?
Do you guys drink beer for breakfast?
Do you drive on the left side of the road?
Do you speak English with each other in Germany?
Is everyone in Germany as tall as you? (I am 6'1")

I LOVE my host mom

I liked that you emailed me when I was placed and introduced yourself – shows you care.

I love Bismarck – it’s hard to really explain why – I like the snow, I like the flat of the land

I so want to come back and do my Senior year here in my School – I want to go to Prom again, to football games, there are more things to do at school , the teachers here are so nice. We don’t have an honor roll in my country – no real reason to strive to do better.

Teachers here will stop and say “I like your earrings” – in my home country they wouldn’t do that.
